Make these tasty scones in a snap with Sargento® Shredded Sharp Cheddar Cheese - Traditional Cut, pitted dates, walnuts and yogurt to create tasty dough that bakes to golden perfection. Then top with a honey-butter glaze and make these morsels simply irresistible.

Ingredients
  • 2 cups reduced fat buttermilk biscuit baking mix
  • 1/4 cup butter or margarine
  • 1-1/2 cups (6 oz.) Sargento® Shredded Sharp Cheddar Cheese - Traditional Cut
  • 1 cup chopped pitted dates or raisins
  • 1 cup chopped walnuts
  • 1 cup plain lowfat yogurt
  • =Honey Butter:
  • 1/2 cup unsalted butter, softened
  • 2 Tbsp. honey
Directions
  1. Cut butter into baking mix with pastry blender until mixture is the size of small peas. Stir in cheese, dates and walnuts. Add yogurt; mix well.
  2. Place dough onto greased baking sheet. Pat dough into 9-inch circle with floured hands. Bake in preheated 425°F oven 25 minutes or until golden brown. Let stand 10 minutes; cut into wedges. Serve warm with honey butter.
  3. For Honey Butter, combine butter and honey . Beat with fork until light and fluffy.
