Make these caprese appetizers the next time you host a party; they’re sure to be a hit. This recipe packs the delicious flavors of a classic caprese combination and puts them into a puff pastry shell with melted Sargento® Shredded Mozzarella - Traditional Cut for extra smooth flavor.

Ingredients
  • 3 oz. sliced prosciutto
  • 2 oz. cream cheese, softened
  • 2 cups (8 oz.) Sargento® Shredded Mozzarella - Traditional Cut
  • 1 cup fresh basil, finely chopped
  • 2 large plum tomatoes, seeds removed, diced small
  • 1/2 tsp. Italian seasoning
  • 1/2 tsp. black pepper
  • 1/2. tsp salt
  • 15 mini fillo shells, thawed
Directions
  1. Preheat oven to 350°F. Line a baking pan with foil. Place prosciutto slices on foil and bake for 10-15 minutes or until crispy. Allow prosciutto to cool and crumble into small pieces.
  2. In medium mixing bowl, combine cream cheese, Mozzarella, basil, tomatoes, prosciutto, Italian seasoning, black pepper and salt. Work ingredients together until evenly mixed.
  3. Gently press filling into mini fillo shells, filling to the top.
  4. Place on baking pan and bake for 15 minutes or until cheese is melted and filling is heated through, being careful not to allow fillo to over-brown.
