This recipe has tons of cheesy flavor with the help of Sargento® Ultra Thin® Swiss Cheese Slices and several other delicious flavors — as well as baby peas, slices of deli ham and tons of buttery macaroni noodles that all bake together in the oven with a crispy breadcrumb topping.

Ingredients
  • 12 thin slices deli ham
  • 1 cup uncooked elbow macaroni
  • 3/4 cup frozen baby peas
  • 1 Tbsp. butter
  • 2 Tbsp. grated or minced fresh onion
  • 1 Tbsp. all-purpose flour
  • 1-1/2 cups milk, divided
  • 3 slices Sargento® Ultra Thin® Swiss Cheese Slices
  • 1/4 cup (1 oz.) Sargento® Shredded Sharp Cheddar Cheese - Traditional Cut
  • 1/4 cup (1 oz.) Sargento® Shredded Mozzarella - Traditional Cut
  • 1 tsp. salt
  • Few grinds black pepper
  • 3 Tbsp. dried bread crumbs
  • 3 Tbsp. Sargento® Shredded Parmesan Cheese
Directions
  1. Preheat oven to 350°F. In large saucepan, bring salted water to a boil and add macaroni. Boil 5 minutes; add peas. Cook 4 minutes more. Remove from heat, drain and set aside.
  2. While pasta is cooking, spray each cup of 12 cup muffin pan with non-stick cooking spray. Line each cup with 1 slice ham, making folds as necessary to fit;set aside.
  3. In non-stick skillet, melt butter over medium heat. Add onion and cook until translucent. Stir in flour and cook one to two minutes more until thickened. Remove from heat and add 1/4 cup milk. Stir until smooth. Add remaining milk and return to stovetop. Stir continuously, about 10 minutes, until mixture comes to a boil.
  4. Remove pan from heat. Stir in salt and pepper, then add Swiss, Cheddar and Mozzarella cheeses, stirring until melted. Add macaroni and peas, stirring until covered cheese sauce. Fill ham "cups" with the macaroni mixture. Combine breadcrumbs and Parmesan cheese, and sprinkle on top.
  5. Bake 20 minutes, or until topping is golden brown. Allow to stand 5 minutes before serving.
