Ingredients
  • 8 thick slices French or Italian bread
  • 1/4 cup orange marmalade
  • 4 slices Canadian bacon
  • 8 slices Sargento® Sliced Medium Cheddar Cheese
  • 3 eggs
  • 1/2 cup orange juice
  • 1 tsp. brown sugar
  • 3 Tbsp. butter or margarine
  • Confectioners sugar (optional)
Directions
  1. Spread 4 slices of bread with marmalade. Top with 1 slice bacon and 2 slices cheese. Top with remaining bread, pressing lightly.
  2. Combine eggs, orange juice and brown sugar in shallow container. Dip sandwiches into egg mixture; turn and let stand 30 seconds or until mixture soaks in.
  3. Melt butter in large skillet over medium heat. Add sandwiches and cook 3 minutes each side or until golden brown and cheese is melted. If desired, sprinkle with confectioners sugar. Serve with additional marmalade.
