Make a tuna melt something special. The flavor-packed filling is topped with a slice of Sargento® Smokehouse Cheddar™ Cheese to make a hot sandwich that’s perfect for lunch or dinner.

Ingredients
  • 1 can (6 oz.) solid white tuna, drained and flaked
  • 3 tbsp. mayonnaise
  • 1 tbsp. lemon juice
  • 2 tsp. Dijon mustard
  • 2 tbsp. finely chopped celery
  • 1 green onion, chopped
  • 1 tbsp. chopped fresh dill
  • 1/2 tsp. minced garlic
  • 2 slices rustic multigrain bread, lightly toasted
  • 2 large tomato slices
  • 2 slices Sargento® Smokehouse Cheddar™ Cheese, halved
Directions
  1. In bowl, combine tuna, mayonnaise, lemon juice and Dijon; stir in celery, green onion, dill and garlic. Spread mixture over toast; top evenly with tomato and cheese slices.
  2. Preheat broiler. Place sandwiches on parchment paper–lined baking sheet; broil for 1 to 2 minutes or until cheese is melted. Tip: These sandwiches are also delicious with shredded cooked chicken or turkey.

Easy to follow directions. Absolutely delicious! Made this tonight and hubby loved it! I used shredded cheddar because that is all I had. Will be sure to try Sargento next time Did not need parchment paper. Nonstick pan worked great!
